Serbian Lotteries

The Serbian State Lottery Company, created by the Games of Chance Act in 2005, operates and regulates the national lottery in addition to other forms of classic gaming as defined by the act. Upon the Serbian state lottery's establishment, Serbia's former three lotteries - the National Lottery, the Lottery of Serbia and the Lottery of Belgrade - were abolished.

The lottery sells tickets via retail locations across the country and holds a maximum of two draws weekly. The state lottery is taxed at a rate of 60% and supports the Republic budget. Today, classic games of chance continue to be offered under state concessions, with lottery and instant games taxed on a preferential basis compared with casino and betting, and part of the proceeds earmarked for the state budget and public-interest causes.
